And we must realize, On COMMAND Jesus the CHRIST said,

Sermon by Preacher Doc for June 01, 2003
The Miracle Performed by Jesus The CHRIST, concerning Healing the
speechless Man. May be read per Matthew, Chapter 9, Verses 32 & 33.
"As they (Christ and His Apostles) went out, behold, they brought to Him a
dumb (could not speak) Man possessed with a devil (affliction).
And when the devil (affliction) was cast out (HEALED) the dumb Man spoke.
And the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel."
Realize, when Matthew wrote his EYEWITNESS accounts of CHRIST's Miracles,
he was writing them primarily to and for the disbelieving Jews in Israel.
Therefore, he used their terms. That is, a person with an affliction
(handicap) possessed 'a devil'. That anyone could overcome this 'devil' (affliction); ON
COMMAND 'was never seen in Israel'! And some of the multitude; still doubted
what they had witnessed. Because Jesus was 'not one of the ruling Pharisees'.
Thus, there was the conflict of 'the official religion' as practiced by the
Pharisees. And Jesus The CHRIST, Preaching that He was, and IS, the True Son
of GOD, and "The Way." Thus the Religion of CHRIST, the "Christian Religion".
This Miracle is brief in description. And thus "I luck out." (I can give a brief
Sermon.) However the miracle affords the opportunity to 'look into', and get a
glimpse of the People, conditions and language of that time.
For some Scholars, and possibly Readers, who digest every word of the Gospels,
An insight into the times may give significant meaning to various Passages.

On this Memorial Day, we honor soldiers who died in combat. In recent years, more recognition is being given to Civilian casualties. In this Preacher's opinion, why not Honor, Pray to GOD, for ANY AND ALL, WHO ALSO DESERVE TO BE WITH GOD AND CHRIST IN PARADISE!
And if we take a moment to get an 'overall picture', it appears we have said a Prayer for All in the past. That Prayer is timely and absolutely correct. For the Future, each of us must remember our most important duty: we must realize and accept the salvation of one particular Soul, OUR OWN.
