Miracle #6, "Granting Sight to a Man Born Blind!" PROVED GOD's Power of Creativity! Miracle #4, "The Raising of Jairus' Daughter!" PROVED that Saved Souls have Equality! Nov 12, 2006 Sermon by Preacher Doc To real Thinkers of all ages; well, mainly mature Readers who do not shy away from a scholastic challenge! In this Preacher's HUMBLE Opinion, the #10 to #4, "weighted" (most powerful impacting) Divine Miracles by GOD and Jesus CHRIST are: #10. "Granting Sight to the Blind Man of Bethsaida!" Reason, of the "Five (classical) Senses" (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste), sight is regarded as most important. And appears "impossible," for Scientist to obtain! #9. "Granting of Sight of Blind Bartimeaus!" Reason, same as Divine, powerful impacting Miracle #10. With the further fact that Bartimeaus, voiced his Prayer (Belief), above the noise and objections of the crowd that was following Jesus! Thus CHRIST said, "Receive your sight, your Faith has Saved you." #8. "Granting Sight and Speech to a Blind Mute!" Reason, CHRIST Grants sight and Speech, simultaneously! Understand the Divine speed and POWER to Perform this simultaneous Miracle!! #7. "Granting Sight to Two Blind Men, Simultaneously!!" Reason, in "weighted" Divine Miracle #8, CHRIST, Performs a simultaneous Miracle of Granting TWO important senses for a Man! In this Divine Miracle, the speed and POWER to Perform Granting the most important sense of sight, to TWO Men, SIMULTANEOUSLY ! Challenges the comprehension of the Human intellect! #6. "Granting Sight to the Man Born Blind!" Reason, this Divine Miracle by Jesus CHRIST to Grant sight to a Man born blind! PROVES GOD's and CHRIST's UNLIMITED, DIVINE POWER ! In this POWERFUL, Divine Miracle, GOD and CHRIST, PROVE, C R E A T I O N ! Realize, this Man never had sight. This POWERFUL, Divine Miracle also presents one of the most profound Lessons, concerning Jesus CHRIST, The NEW LAW (NEW TESTAMENT) and CHRISTianity! Jesus rebuking the old 'law' (testament). He Preached, "Neither has this Man sinned nor his Parents.--- As long as I am in the World, I am the Light of the World." ----- And the (former) blind Man, dramatically corrects the jealous, Jewish temple leaders, per: "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshipper of God, and does His Will, him He hears. Not since the beginning of the World has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a Man born blind. If this Man (Jesus The CHRIST) were not from God, He could do nothing." (This Preacher voices this opinion, "After reading this POWERFUL PROOF of GOD's and CHRIST's Divinity!! Only a demented fool would try to deny GOD's and CHRIST's Divinity.") #5. "Raising the Widow's Son from Nain!" Reason, GOD and CHRIST now PROVE they will Grant SALVATION to Believers! Jesus The CHRIST, first Performs, PROVING SALVATION ! Per the Widow's Son (of Nain). There is the added, Social Science Lesson of the need to help a lonely widow! (The above "Good Deed Miracle" has been incorporated into modern law and social practice.) #4. "The Raising of Jairus' Daughter!" Reason, GOD and CHRIST again PROVE, "SALVATION." And that WOMEN'S SOULS are EQUAL to MEN'S SOULS ! (Remember, this is about AD 33 ! Women were 'not counted.' An ancient and 'old law' practice; that Jesus rebuked and corrected!) Preacher Doc, who suggests, "Really read in your Bibles, and reread if you have the time and interest. Most Theologians do not include this Divine Miracle in their list of (37) Divine Miracles by Jesus. Notice, I said, "The Ascension of CHRIST into Heaven!" Because in this Preacher's opinion, when Jesus was alive on this Earth as Jesus. He was among the Jews. When He began His Ministry ("Transforming Water Into Wine"). Jesus Performed His first PROOF; - of being Jesus, The CHRIST ! When the jealous and criminal Jewish leaders MURDERED Jesus to try to stop His developing the CHRISTian Religion; there were many that recognized Him as Jesus The CHRIST, The Son of GOD ! And when Jesus The CHRIST Rose from the dead, PROVING SALVATION ! He then and Forever, is The CHRIST with the GOD, with instantaneous and complete Judgment, of all Souls! Notice and comprehend the stages: of a youthful Jesus, the developing Ministry and Religion of CHRISTianity, the at least 40 Divine PROOFs of GOD and CHRIST's Divinity and the Eternal, Living GOD and CHRIST with instantaneous and complete Judgment of yours, mine and all Souls! In this Preacher's Theological opinion, said awareness and comprehension, requires intelligent, scholarly thinking! Is there any PROOF of this opinion? I quote the "NEW TESTAMENT", the EYEWITNESS Apostle Mark, chapter 16, verses 19-20. "Now He led Them (the 11 Apostles) out towards Bethany, and raised up His hands and Blessed Them. And it came to pass as He Blessed Them, that He parted from Them and was Carried Up Into Heaven. And They Worshipped Him. (Prayed to the Divine CHRIST AS OUR SAVIOR AND GOD as you and I are Commanded to do to Save our Eternal Souls !)" Oct 15, 2006 Sermon by Preacher Doc Honorable Brothers and Sisters, There is the saying, "There is a song for every occasion." The "occasion" for this GOD's Day/Sunday is the harmonious preparation by Resurrected Jesus CHRIST of His Apostles to fear not. And go out into the World and Preach the Good News (Gospel) that One can Save their Immortal Soul by Belief (that Jesus (PROVED) HE IS the Son of GOD) and by humble, sincere Prayer! Sometimes, the uneducated in the PROOFS of CHRIST and GOD's Divinity; exclaim, "Is THAT all I have to do ---- is just Believe !??" Well, that is first and foremost! Practicing ENJOYING a Christian Life is the full spectrum toward Salvation. Then one that is leery will say, "I knew there was a 'catch'." WELL, BE REALISTIC ! Not pessimistic! A real Christian Man doesn't marry a Girl to love and support, and if times get 'tough'; (usually due to "When debts 'come through the door; love goes out the window.") he leaves his Family! Then your Religious Faith; or whatever; CANNOT excuse you from GOD's perfect judgment and His proper punishment or reward. The 'on the fence' (yes & no) possible convert then says, "Well, better I don't join (be a Christian)." This Preacher is then forced to think, "Oh, you weak-spine fellow." However, I only say, "Man's first duty is Belief in GOD and Family. To be Judged by GOD to be with HIS Family, in Eternal Paradise! You MUST fulfill your Family obligations, be a good Father and Husband to YOUR Family. No 'two ways' about YOUR Family obligations," And Honorable Brothers and Sisters, THAT is where many of my science colleagues, foolishly go off on a tangent from realistic thinking. They are 'so smart', they will 'play dumb' to Believing! Then they 'excuse themselves' from being obligated to practice being a good Christian Believer! Well, as I began this Sermon, there is the saying, "There is a song for every occasion." And 'matching' what presented in my Sermon with a song; sequentially; I suggest: "What a Friend (Savior) We Have In Jesus!" --- "Lord's Prayer" (Our Father, set to music,) --- And perhaps the popular "I Believe" that incorporates belief and nature. One of my favorites is "Trees"; the poem by Joyce Kilmer, set to music! That incorporates nature and understood, GOD to be the Creator! ("A tree that looks at GOD all day. As one or more of them may be your Preacher; I will only mention their best value: "They do, or try to, spread the Belief in Christianity." While Yours Truly: "Says what he means (for you to Believe), and means what he says !" (that you MUST Believe to Save YOUR Soul !) Another prime example to and for many Internet Readers: Saul, the tax collector and persecutor of Christians, encountered, on the Road to Damascus, Jesus CHRIST, after CHRIST's Resurrection! He then became the Believer and great Evangelist, the Apostle Paul! And this GOD's Day/Sunday, we are at sequential PROOF #38. Per the "NEW TESTAMENT", "First Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Corinthians, chapter 15, verses 1 - 11." [Usually concised and abbreviated (understood, Paul) 1 Cor 15: 1 - 11] (Quote) "Now I recall to your minds, Brethren, the Gospel that I preached to you, which also you received, wherein also you stand; through which also you are being Saved, if you hold fast, as I preached it to you -- unless you have believed to no purpose. Years ago, when my primary vocation was Science, I was critically analyzing each of Jesus CHRIST's Divine Miracles. This Divine Miracle of Jesus cursing a fig tree caused me some concern. Does this sound as if Jesus actually said this? We now read and study this in the Bible. See Mark, Chapter 11 vs 12-24 On the next day, after they (Jesus and His Disciples) had left Bethany. He felt hungry; and seeing a fig tree in the distance. He went to it, to obtain (necessary) nourishment. When He came upon it, there was no food. Thus, Jesus cursed the fig tree. (For giving false hope to a traveler on the hot desert, in need of nourishment, taking the time and energy to further travel to this nonfood producing fig tree). Then, they proceeded on to Jerusalem. And Jesus entered the temple, and began to cast out those who were moneychangers or those selling doves. The purchase of which, 'bought you Heaven with the previous prophets.' Jesus spoke, "Is it not written, 'My House shall be called a House of Prayer'.But you have made it a den of thieves." Those that did not want Jesus to correct their sinful practices, sought ways to kill Him. The next morning, as they passed by that same fig tree. The Disciples saw that it was burnt and withered, to the ground. And Peter, remembering, said to Jesus, " Rabbi, behold, the fig tree that Thou did curse is withered to the ground!" Thus Jesus, The CHRIST, Preached: "Have Faith in GOD. Amen I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Arise, and hurl thyself into the sea.'" (That is; GOD with Divine Power, CREATED this World, and on The Last Day (Day of Judgment) could end this material World !) For, the Believer who does not waver in his heart (keeps the Faith). And Believes in GOD and Salvation. Eternal Salvation will be Granted to that Believer." In my opinion, what CHRIST is further Demonstrating is GOD's and His Divine Power ! (defiant sinners face at Judgment) Believers will be Granted, "Paradise!" Fully defiant sinners (blasphemers) will not ! Teacher-Brother Dave comments: Some Bible Scholars believe that certain Gospel writers who were familiar with Jeremiah 8:13 thought that Jesus was disappointed with the barren fig tree as a metaphorical parable of Jesus' disappointment with Israel. Others, including myself, believe that Jesus' alleged "cursing of a barren fig tree" is a gross confusion of Jesus' actual words. Here is a version that rings True with me: Jesus' Parable of the Fig Tree "There was a certain man who planted a fig tree in his yard, and when he had many times sought fruit thereon and found none, he called the vinedressers before him and said: 'Here have I come these three seasons looking for fruit on this fig tree and have found none. Cut down this barren tree; why should it encumber the ground?' But the head gardener answered his master: 'Let it alone for one more year so that I may dig around it and put on fertilizer, and then, next year, if it bears no fruit, it shall be cut down.' And when they had thus complied with the laws of fruitfulness, since the tree was living and good, they were rewarded with an abundant yield." It is comprised of any and all items, offerings and opinions, and participated in by any and all subscribers and/or interested readers. In this Preacher's humble opinion, professing One's Belief is not bragging or 'imposing' One's expertise on Another. In fact, this Preacher has and does issue the challenge: "If the Religion you Believe in is better than mine, I will convert to your Religion." The overwhelming majority of Christians agree in the Divinity of GOD and CHRIST. It is the nonbelieving subscribers and readers, operating from the mentality of, "My mind is made up don't confuse me with the facts." It is they who abuse this Internet by blasphemous attacks on Christian Believers and the Divinity of GOD and CHRIST. Nearly all blasphemous attackers, especially on the Internet are demented cowards who refuse to identify their name, etc. All Preachers could and should challenge nonbelievers, both Spiritually and personally concerning the True Facts of their Christian Faith, and that they Truly are Preaching for their Followers and Readers to obtain Eternal Happiness. Critical toward this goal is One's Belief and the expression of CHRIST's PROOFS that HE IS the Divine Son of Our Father Creator, GOD !! In this Preacher's humble opinion, one of JESUS' Greatest Miracles (#31) is the "The Raising of Lazarus." This overwhelming POWERFUL PROOF is recounted by EYEWITNESSES ! I quote the EYEWITNESS Apostle John, chapter 11, verses 1- 44. "Now a certain Man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her Sister Martha. Now it was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet dry with her hair, whose Brother, Lazarus was sick. The Sisters therefore sent to Jesus, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom Thou regard as a True Believer and Brother is sick." When Jesus heard this, He said to them (messengers), "This sickness is not unto death, but for the Glory of GOD, that through it the Son of GOD may be Glorified." Now Jesus loved (with compassion) Martha and her Sister Mary. However, when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He remained two more days in the same place. Then, afterwards He said to His Disciples, "Let us go again into Judea." The Disciples said to Him, "Rabbi, just now the Jews were seeking to stone Thee! And dost Thou go there again?" "Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a Man walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if he walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not with him." These things He spoke, then said to them, "Lazarus, our Friend (Believer), 'sleeps.' I am going that I may wake him from 'sleep.' His Disciples therefore said, "Lord, if he sleeps, he will be safe." Now Jesus had spoken of the 'sleep of death.' The Disciples thought He was speaking of the repose of sleep. Thus, Jesus said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead; and I rejoice on your account that I was not there, that you may Believe. Thus, let us go to him." Thomas, who is called the Twin, said therefore to his fellow Disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with Him." Jesus therefore came and found him (Lazarus) already four days in the tomb. Now Bethany was close to Jerusalem, some fifteen stadia distant. And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to comfort them on account of their Brother. When, therefore, Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him. But Mary remained at Home. Martha therefore said to Jesus, "Lord if Thou hadst been here my Brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever Thou shalt ask of GOD, GOD will give it to Thee!" And when she had said this, she went away and quietly called Mary her Sister, saying, "The Master is here and calls thee." As soon as Mary heard this, she rose quickly and came to Him, for Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met Him. When, therefore, the Jews who were with Mary in the house and were comforting her, saw Mary rise up quickly and go out. They followed her, saying, "She is going to the tomb to weep there." When Mary came to where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell at His feet, and said, "Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my Brother would not have died." When, therefore, Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her weeping, He groaned in spirit (voice) and was troubled, and said, "Where have you laid him?" They said, "Lord, come and see. And Jesus wept. The Jews therefore said, "See how He cared for His Friend Lazarus." But some of them said, "Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind have caused that this Man should not die?" Jesus therefore, again groaning in himself, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was laid against it. Jesus said, "Take away the stone." And Jesus raising His eyes said, "Father, I give Thee thanks that Thou hast heard Me. Yet I knew that Thou always hearest Me; but because of the People who stand around, I spoke, that they may Believe that Thou hast sent Me." Ask him; he is of age, let him speak for himself." These things his Parents said because they feared the Jews. For already the Jews had agreed that if anyone were to confess that Jesus is the CHRIST, they would be put out of the synagogue. This is why his Parents said, 'He is of age; ask him.' The pharisees therefore called a second time the Man who had been blind, and said to him, "Give glory to God! We ourselves know that this Man is a sinner." The former blind Man therefore said, "Whether He is a sinner, I do not know. One thing I do know, that whereas I was blind, NOW I SEE !" The pharisees therefore said to him, "What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?" He answered them, "I have told you already, and you have heard. Why would you hear again? Would you also become His Disciples?" The pharisees heaped abuse on him therefore, and said, "You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses. We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this man, we do not know where he is from." In answer the (former) blind Man said to them, "Why, herein is the marvel, that you do not know where He is from, and yet He opened my eyes! Now we know that GOD does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshipper of GOD, and does His Will, Him He hears. ((NOTICE THE TREMENDOUS, RELIGIOUS ANSWER ! JUST AS IF GOD AND CHRIST ARE SPEAKING !)) Not from the beginning of the world has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a Man born blind! If this Man were not from GOD, He could do nothing." The pharisees answered and said to him, "You were altogether born in sins [their belief and practice, 'born blind because your Parents 'sinned'' !?] and you teach us?" Jesus heard that they had turned the former blind Man out (of the temple). Thus, when He found him, He said to the former blind Man, "Do you Believe in the Son of GOD?" He answered, "Who is He, Lord, that I may Believe in Him?" Therefore Jesus CHRIST said to him, "You have both seen Him, and it is He who speaks with you." The former blind Man said, "I Believe, Lord.' And falling down, he Worshipped CHRIST. Jesus CHRIST said, "For Judgment have I come into this world, that they who do not see, may see. And they who see may become 'blind'." And some of the pharisees who were there and heard this, said to Jesus CHRIST, "Are we also blind?" Jesus CHRIST said to them, "If you were blind, you would not have sin. But now that you say, 'We see,' your sin remains." " Preacher Doc, "If you were blind, [could not see the (visible) light of this world, but Believed the Miracle] you would not have sin (of nonbelief). But now that you say. 'We see,' (you look at the Son of GOD, can see Him and His Divine PROOF, and yet do not Believe) your sin remains."
